We are very excited to announce that Marina Hyde will be joining us at The Alexandra Theatre to talk about her book,  ‘What a Time to Be Alive!’.

Marina will be in conversation with Robin Ince for 45 minutes. There will then be a 20 minute interval. The event will resume for 40 mins with a Q&A. There will then then be a signing afterwards!

Marina Hyde’s weekly Guardian columns have earned her a reputation as one of the most admired journalists in the UK. She has been named Columnist of the Year and Political Commentator of the year multiple times each, and is the only woman ever to have been named Sportswriter of the Year by the Sports Journalists’ Association. Marina co-hosts the smash hit podcast The Rest is Entertainment with Richard Osman.
What a Time to be Alive! So lettuce remember Liz Truss, relive the last days of the Tories, meet the guy they called No-Drama Starmer, and succumb to hyper-resistant superbug Nigel Farage. Travel stateside to meet our supranational Silicon Valley overlords, Donald Trump and his cavalcade of henchmen – then head for infinity and beyond with Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos.
Experience testing times for misunderstood men in television, create wonder in every moment with Meghan, and relive the horror of the Gwyneth Paltrow ski massacre trial. Truly, these are times that make you want to put your hands over your eyes, even when your hands are already over your eyes. The only thing to do is read Marina Hyde and howl with laughter.
Praise for ‘What a Time to Be Alive!’:
‘This country’s foremost living satirist.’ Vogue
‘Hyde’s columns are the solid-silver lining of Britain’s political shitstorm.’ Caitlin Moran
