Join artist and designer Emma Carlow for a 3 hr ceramics workshop inspired by her amazing collection of folk art bird whistles.

Please note children must be accompanied by an adult.

Working with clay, you will make two whistles and be able to add texture and pattern before applying underglaze colour to your design. Once dried and fired, your finished whistles will be available for you to collect a week later from How Brave Is The Wren, ready to use at the festival the following weekend!!

No previous ceramics experience is necessary just curiosity and a willingness to explore.

Emma shows her work regularly, both in solo and group exhibitions. Her work has sold internationally through the Royal Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy and Royal West of England Academy. She has created product lines for many museums including Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft, Pollocks Toy Museum and The Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe.

One ticket for this event includes one adult (18yrs+) and one child (7yrs – 16yrs)

This event is part of The Heath Bookshop Literature & Music Festival and is supported by National Lottery Grants Funding through Arts Council England.
