Children's Event - Sam Sedgman - The Galileo Heist
The Heath Bookshop
Join us for an author talk and workshop! This is primarily for ages 7-12yrs but all ages are welcome!
Sam Sedgman is a bestselling author, confirmed nerd and enthusiastic ferroequinologist (someone who is recreationally interested in and studies trains and rail transport systems).
This particular interest definitely served him well with his first novel for young readers, The Highland Falcon Thief, which was published by Macmillan in January 2020, winning Children’s Fiction Book of the Year at the British Book Awards. Co-written with his friend M. G. Leonard, the book was the first instalment of the bestselling middle grade series Adventures On Trains.
Most recently, Sam launched his own adventure series Isaac Turner Investigates with two titles already out, (The Clockwork Conspiracy and The Forbidden Atlas), they follow the journey of young inventor Isaac as he uncovers a sinister plot and runs up against ruthless treasure hunters.
Sam will be introducing us to the third book in the series The Galileo Heist (and may just mention trains too if you’re lucky).
This event is part of The Heath Bookshop Literature & Music Festival and is supported by National Lottery Grants Funding through Arts Council England.
